ATC shall notify AAIU about Air Traffic incident, which includes Aircraft Proximity (AIRPROX), Near Mid Air Collisions (NMACs), pilot deviations, vehicle or pedestrian deviations, and other occurrences.

ATC should notify the concerned Airport Directorates and other organizations. 

  • . What to Notify and Report
    ATC  facilities shall report:   
  1. All known and suspected accidents. AAIU should be notified within two hours of the original accident report. (An example of a suspected accident is the simultaneous unexplained loss of radio communications and radar contact with an Aircraft).   
  2. Accidents involving aircraft that departed a foreign country and whose first point of intended landing was in Jordan or aircraft that departed Jordan for a foreign country. For such accidents:
    1. Facility Accident Notification Form (Form No. 3l-1, appendix 2) and Aircraft Accident / Incident Preliminary Notice Form (Form No. 31-2, appendix 2) are to be completed.   
    2. Formal accident package should be prepared if the accident happened for Jordan ATC served aircraft.
       
  3. Aircraft incidents, selected criminal acts reported to, or by law enforcement agencies, emergency evacuations of aircraft, in-flight major component failures, and any incident that threatened or caused damage or injury to property, aircraft, or persons.   
  4. Overdue and missing aircraft when
    1. An aircraft on an Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) flight plan is overdue at the point of intended landing as stated in the flight plan and when the estimated fuel exhaustion time is exceeded. 
    2. An aircraft on an activated Visual Flight Rules (VFR) flight plan is 48 hours overdue at the point of intended landing as stated in the flight plan.   
    3. Information is received that search and rescue procedures have commenced for an aircraft that is not on a flight plan.   
  • How to Report

 

  1. The ATC facility first receiving notification of a known accident or a suspected accident shall make a record initial notification using Form 31-1, appendix 2, which is a list of contacts.  
  2. Immediately after completing telephone notification using Form 31-1, the reporting ATC facility shall compile the required information, complete Form 31-2, appendix 2 and transmit it to AAIU.
  •  Completing the Form
  1. Complete part 1 of Form 3l-2 for all accidents and / or suspected accidents.  
  2. Complete part 2 of Form 31-2 when radio navigational aids, communications equipment, radar-automated systems or approach lights may have been or were involved. Notify appropriate personnel of the facilities potentially involved.
